President Akufo-Addo has cut sod for the dualisation of the Bimbilla township Road which forms part of Lot 5 of the 95km Oti Damonko-Yendi stretch of the Eastern Corridor road.
The dualisation project will see the construction of two roundabouts in Bimbilla, which will be the first of its kind North of Jasikan in the Buem district of the Oti region.
The dualisation of the 2km Bimbilla township road and the 2.5km Yendi township road will complete lot 5 of the Eastern Corridor road which stretches from Tema in the Greater Accra region to Kulungugu in the Upper East region.
The completion of the project will reduce travel time between Yendi and Bimbilla from more than 3 hours to about an hour.
