President Nana Akufo-Addo has nominated Joyce Adjoa Agyeiwaa for the position of Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Birim Central in the Eastern Region.
Her replacement comes after Victoria Adu, the former MCE for the constituency’s appointment was revoked by President Akufo-Addo on March 19.
In a statement signed by the Member of Parliament for Techiman South, Martin Kwaku Adjei-Mensah Korsah cited that, according to the government, the appointment of Joyce Agyeiwaa aligns with Article 243 (1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), which governs the selection process for MCEs.
He further urged the Regional Minister to liaise with the Regional Electoral Commission to conduct the confirmation process of the nominated MCE.
