President Akufo-Addo per article 67 of the 1992 constitution is expected to deliver the State of the Nation Address on Wednesday March 8, 2023.
Majority Chief Whip, Mr. Frank Annoh-Dompreh, made this known on Friday when presenting the Business Statement for the week ending March 3, 2023.
The State of the Nation Address (SONA) is a constitutional obligation and yearly tradition, wherein the chief executive reports on the status of the country, unveils the government’s agenda for the coming year.
The SONA which was initially scheduled for Tuesday February 28 was pushed to March 8 after the Speaker Alban Bagbin indicated the initial date was not suitable.
According to the speaker, the President was consulted on the new date and is expected to address the nation on the said date.
