Scores of market women from the Ashanti region will today, throng the party NPP head office to pick up nomination forms for aspiring Flagbearer of NPP, Alan Kyerematen.
It will be recalled that market women from the stronghold of the NPP, during the Aduru WoSo walk in Kumasi, pledged to raise funds for the former Minister of Trade, when NPP finally opens up for nominations.
The market women remarked during the largest-ever walk organized for a Flagbearer aspirant of the NPP that, “Hon. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen is the leader NPP should bring if the party wants to break the 8 with Ashanti Region.”
The former Trade Minister will add to a number of former ministers to pick forms to run as Presidential candidate for the Party.
Since opening nominations a week ago, six individuals have already picked their forms to contest in the primaries.
The individuals include the current Vice President, Dr. Bawumia, former Agric Minister, Dr. Afriyie Akoto, Addai Nimo, former general secretary of the party, Kwabena Agyapong, Kwabena Poku and Boakye Agyarko.
Alan will be the 7th individual to pick up his forms later today.
The Party is expected to hold its primaries on November 4, 2023, to elect a leader to help the party break the 8 in the 2024 general elections.
