The national economic summit which is under the theme: “Building Non-Partisan Consensus for a National Economic Development Plan”, according to Mr. Kyerematen is to promote the establishment of a government with national unity, bringing together individuals from different backgrounds to achieve a common goal.

Announcing the summit, the former minister for trade and industry said as part of his Great Transformational Plan (GTP), the summit will help put the private sector and the business community at the centre of his national development efforts.

On September 25, 2023, Alan Kyerematen resigned from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and formed his Movement for Change Agenda and announced to run as an independent candidate in the 2024 general elections.

Since his resignation from the NPP, Mr. Kyerematen has been championing the agenda to transform Ghana through a non-partisan government.

According to him, Ghana has the potential to be in a better place than it is currently adding that with the right leaders and the right transformational plan, Ghana will be great again.

He also mentioned that, Ghanaians need to embrace change and break the NPP and NDC duopoly which according to him has hindered the country’s progress for far too long.
