A Presidential Staffer, George Atsu Egbenunya, has revealed that they are ready for Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen supporters to gather behind Mr. Kennedy Agyapong ahead of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries on November 4, 2023.

He believes that Mr. Agyapong has become the only threat to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 General elections but not any other personality.

The NDC, the Presidential Staffer said knows Mr. Agyapong is well-loved by the good people of Ghana than Mr. John Dramani Mahama and is the only person that would avoid them of victory in the elections.

Mr. Egbenunye made this known to journalists after Mr. Kyerematen announced his resignation in the Party’s presidential primaries on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.

According to the him, Mr. Agyapong is the second most admirable personality by Ghanaians and stand tall among all other persons to help the NPP achieve its dream of breaking Ghana’s political jinx.

“I do not associate myself with failures. Among all the remaining aspirants in the elections, Mr. Egbenunye will not follow anybody who cannot help the party break the almighty 8 in 2024. Why would I just recommend anything at all to Ghanaians when I’m aware it is not good, do you really think I can do that?” Mr. Egbenunye disclosed.

Alan Cash, he said has over the years demonstrated his commitments towards leading the NPP to break the 8 in the 2024 elections and deserved to be elected as flagbearer of the party, but it is unfortunate this has happened.

He however described, Mr. Agyapong as a competent person with no corruptible records, saying that his personality is what the entire Ghanaian populace is looking out for to lead the country.

The New Patriotic Party will go to the polls on November 4, 2023 to select a leader to contest in next year’s general elections.

With Alan Kyerematen pulling out from the race, the party is left with four (4) candidates; Vice president, Dr. Bawumia, Assin central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, former minister for food and agriculture, Dr. Afriyie Akoto and Francis Addai- Nimoh.
