Flagbearer aspirant for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, as announced after the Super Delegate Congress is expected to address the public on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 following analysis of the results of the Super Delegate Congress.
The former Trade and Industry minister is expected to be on the ballot for the NPP in the November 4 primaries after placing third behind Dr. Bawumia and Kennedy Ohene Agyapong seeking to lead the party in the 2024 general elections.
Mr. Kyeremanten after the elections expressed his gratitude to his followers and thanked God for His grace and guidance throughout his political journey.
He also congratulated his fellow candidates who took part in the selection process, acknowledging their efforts and commitment and however expressed deep sorrow over a violent incident that occurred during the selection process, where one of his agents was reportedly assaulted.
He condemned the brutal assault, considering it a stain on the integrity of the internal democratic process within the NPP.
As part of the public address which is expected to start at 10 am, Mr. Kyeremanten and his ‘Alan for President (A4P) 2024’ campaign team will give the way forward for the campaign to be the flagbearer after November 4.
Alan John Kwadwo Kyeremanten made an attempt at the leadership of the New Patriotic Party in 2007, capturing 32.3% of votes cast.
He was first runner-up to Nana Akufo-Addo who gained 47.96% of votes cast.
Mr. Kyeremanten made a second attempt at the Party’s leadership in 2010 and again lost to Nana Akufo-Addo who won the Primaries.
