The Local Organizing Committee of the 13th African Games has announced that volunteers for the tournament would be paid an allowance of GH₵1,000.00 and an additional transportation fare of GH₵ 200.00.
In a statement signed by the Executive Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee, Dr. Kwaku Ofosu Asare, disclosed that the decision comes after a meeting with the Ministry of Youth and Sports as a form of showing appreciation for their immense contribution to the success of the tournament.
“To expedite the payment process, volunteers are requested to cooperate with the volunteer sub-committee management’s to validate their names and mobile money numbers by the close of business on Monday, April 8, 2024”, Dr. Asare stated.
He further highlighted that volunteers who have received GH₵200 designated for transportation will be given GH₵1,000 while volunteers who have not received any money yet, gets GH₵1,200.
