Mr Bernard Allotey Jacobs, a former member of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), desire to meet the former President John Agyekum Kufour to apologise to him for demonising the former Ghanaian leader in the past has been fulfilled.
The Former Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress said deeply regrets his actions and was ready to reveal more lies hatched by the NDC against the former stateman.
He noted that the propaganda worked for the NDC as it helped them win the 2009 elections with late President John Evans Atta Mills as flagbearer.
Alottey Jacobs claimed to have already confessed before God and believes that apologizing to Kufuor will bring him closure.
“I would want to seek audience with President Kufuor and apologize to him. I owe him an apology. Every issue has its trigger and there is nothing that is hidden under the sun so don’t say I’m saying this because I’m no longer with the NDC. You can’t light a lamp and hid it, it will show. The type of politics we are doing in this country is destroying people. We make all false allegations against people and there is payback”.
However, the former Central Regional Chairman of the NDC, who later got expelled from the party, announced his meeting with Danquah-Busia-Dombo stalwart on his social media pages.
According to Mr Allotey Jacobs, the meeting was at Aburi.
He said he apologised to the former president for the “propaganda” he waged against him in the past, confessing that he knew there was “no iota of truth” in the things he said about Mr Kufuor at the time.
“And, as a great statesman, he forgave me and had lunch with me”, Mr Allotey Jacobs said, adding: “Thank you President J.A. Kufour. God bless you and keep you safe”.
