Black Stars captain, Andre Ayew’s goal against Lorient has been adjudged January goal of the month in French League 1.
The 34-year-old upon his return to his club, Le Havre, after Ghana’s early exit from the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), scored twice against Lorient during their league game on Sunday, January 28 to secure them a point.
The overhead kick goal, which won him the ward, was scored in the 94th minute to cancel Lorient’s lead.
After joining the team as a free agent in 2023 from Nottingham Forest in England, the two goals became his debut goals for the club.
