Cameroon international, Andre Onana has announced his retirement from international football at the age of 26.
The Inter Milan shot-stopper was in the news in recent weeks after he left Cameroon camp in Qatar at the just-ended FIFA World Cup after a misunderstanding with his coach.
Onana was dropped to the bench in Cameroon’s second game in Qatar against Serbia which ended 3-3.
According to reports, the 26-year-old was dropped after his coach demanded a certain playing style from him which he failed to obey hence leaving his teammates before they even exited the tournament.
In a recent post, Onana announced his retirement from international duties indicating that “every story, however beautiful it may be has an end”.
“And my story with the Cameroonian National team come to an end”
He added that players come and go, names are fleeting but Cameroon comes before any person or player.
Onana made his debut for the indomitable lions in September 2016.
