The Appointment Committee of Parliament has submitted its report on the six  persons vetted for ministerial positions to the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin.

President Akufo-Addo appointed some Members of Parliament to head some ministries due to  vacancies.

The nominees were MP for Abetifi constituency, Hon. Bryan Acheampong, Minister designate for Food and Agriculture, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, Minister of State designate at the Ministry of Finance, Hon. Osei Bonsu Amoah, Minister of State designate, Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development.

Other nominees were Hon. KT Hammond, Minister designate for Trade and Industries, Dr. Stephen Amoah as Deputy Minster designate for Trade and Industry and Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Minister designate for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs.

The Speaker upon receiving the report has however directed that copies of the report be distributed to members of the House for consideration.

Meanwhile prior to the appointment by the President and the subsequent vetting, majority of Ghanaians and various agencies in the country advocated for a cut down in the size of government.
