Ghana’s international friendly against 2022 World Cup winners, Argentina, will no longer come off as planned.
Earlier reports last week indicated that the Ghana Football Association (GFA), had come into agreement with the world champions to play an international friendly in March.
However, the fixture according to reports, which was scheduled to take place on March 26, has been cancelled.
Instead, the South American side has reportedly settled on playing either against hosts of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Ivory Coast, or Nigeria on March 18.
Nigeria has had impressive run in this year’s AFCON, booking a quater-final slot with a 2-0 win against Cameroon, whiles Ivory Coast also went through following their 5-4 victory in penalty shoot out against Senegal.
Argentina and Ivory Coast have faced each other twice, with Ivory Coast losing both times, whiles Nigeria have drawn twice and lost four in their last six matches against Argentina.
