The Krontire Queenmother of Aboabo No.1 in the Dormaa Central Municipality of the Bono Region, Nana Yaa Serwaa Ampaafo Barakatu, has pleaded with President Nana Akufo-Addo to assent to the Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaians Family Values Bill, which was recently passed by parliament, as soon as possible to avoid potential customary and health threats to humans and society as a whole.

Speaking to Newsmen in an interview, Nana Krontirehemaa denoted that the practices, if not well-addressed, will lead to a series of ailments that can lead to physical damage and psychological trauma due to the conditions people go through to get themselves involved in the practices, thus calling on parents and guardians to offer critical advice and counselling to their wards to prevent them from practising the ungodly act because it is against the customs and traditions.

Nana Yaa Serwaa Ampaafo Barakatu took advantage of International Women’s Day on Friday, March 8, 2024, to advise school-aged children, particularly girls, to avoid activities that can lead to teenage pregnancy and, in some cases, school dropout.

She emphasised the importance of these young people focusing on achieving higher educational goals in order to provide them with more opportunities for a better life in their future endeavours.
