The Asutifi North Health Directorate in the Ahafo Region has commenced a polio vaccination exercise for children aged 7 to 11 months to protect them from the disease.

Public Health Officer for Disease Control, Stephen Owusu Sekyere, emphasized the importance of the vaccination, stating that children who are not vaccinated remain at risk of contracting polio.

District Health Promotion Officer, Abiba Sulley, assured parents that the vaccine has no harmful effects. However, she advised that if any child experiences unusual symptoms after vaccination, they should be taken to the hospital for free medical care.

The Asutifi North Health Director, Bryan Sienso, also urged parents to ensure their children receive the vaccine.
