The ASWAJ Educational Committee paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum at his office on Thursday, January 20, 2022.
The two discussed partnerships between the Ministry of Education and traditional leaders of the Upper West Region for continuous development in the region’s education sector.
Dr Osei Adutwum promised to extend his scholarship package (fees, boarding, feeding, transportation) to one secondary school graduate in the Upper West Region to study Engineering at the University of Mines and Technology (UMAT) this academic year.
“It’s always exciting to engage traditional leaders to advance education for national development” he emphasised.
His Eminence Naa Alhaji Yussif Abubakari, Paramount Chief of Manwe on behalf of the other dignitaries expressed gratitude to the minister for the warm reception and pledged their commitment to the development of education at all times.
Members present included, his Eminence Naa Alhaji Yussif Abubakari, Paramount Chief of Manwe traditional area, Manwe Imam, Alhaji Issahaku Zakaria, Regional Chief Imam of ASWAJ, Sheikh Mohammed Gausu, and other members of the ASWAJ educational committee.
