The Member of Parliament for Atiwa East, Mrs. Abena Osei-Asare has met with the family of twin-orphans who lost their mother during childbirth in Abekoase, one of the electoral areas under her constituency.
The coordinator for Abekoase, on behalf of the family expressed his gratitude to the MP for the support given to the family throughout the difficult times.
“The woman who took custody of the kids do not have kids so she decided to hand them over to Mrs. Osei-Asare to support them. The MP been doing a lot for his constituents. And she (the MP) has agreed to take care of them throughout their lives”, the coordinator said.
The MP expressed her interest in adopting the kids. “ It is in my best interest to cater for them and lift their potentials. I pray that the Lord will lift these children through me for them to know that they are also have a mother somewhere ”, she said.
The pronouncement was conveyed on the side of the MP’s community engagement held in Abekoase on Sunday, November 2.
“ I would want to take custody of the children. I have accepted to give them educational support and it’s our fervent prayer that this shall go a long way to uplift the image of the children ”, the MP emphasized.
The mother of the twins named Jocelyn, died 9 years ago during childbirth.
