The Awutu Senya East Municipal Chief Executive Hon Michael Yaw Essuman Mensah on Friday, 11th June, 2021 spearheaded the Green Ghana Day Campaign within the Municipality with the theme “FOREST LANDSCAPE RESTORATION: PLANTING 5 MILLION TREES A DAY”
He joined the First Year Students and Staff of Odupong Senior High School as well as the Municipal Assembly Staff to plant the first seedlings within the Municipality.
He took such opportunity to educate the media, students, staffs as well as citizens of Awutu Senya East Municipality on the reason why this Campaign have been chosen and held by the government across the Length and Breadth of the Country.
Awutu Senya East Municipality had 1,100 seedlings which comprises of Coconut, Manhogany, Cedralla, Cassia, Militia, Royal Palm, and Polythia which is being shared to Schools, Hospitals, Police and other Security Agencies, Individuals to help in the Green Ghana Day Campaign.
Hon Michael Yaw Essuman Mensah was joined on the Campaign with the Municipal Coordinating Director Mr C.K Opoku, Presiding Member of the Municipality Hon Jones Kwasi Kwarteng and Staffs of the Municipality.
