Azumah Resources still belongs to Azumah – Board Chairman

Azumah Resources Ghana Limited has dismissed reports that its ownership has been transferred to Engineers & Planners (E&P), insisting that “Azumah is still owned by Azumah.”

The clarification was given by Prof. Prince Amponsah, Board Chairman of Azumah Resources, who broke his silence in an exclusive interview with ABC News GH on Monday evening.

The rebuttal follows the circulation of a statement titled “Azumah Resource Ghana Ltd and Upwest Resource Ltd announce successful transfer of ownership to Engineers & Planners.”

Prof. Amponsah declared the statement as fake and not from Azumah. “The statement is not coming from us,” he emphasized, describing it as a desperate attempt to confuse stakeholders and breach existing legal processes.

According to him, there has been no transfer of shares from Azumah to E&P or any of its affiliates, contrary to the claims being circulated.

He further explained that some individuals linked to E&P forged documents in a bid to add directors at the Office of the Registrar of Companies, an action he described as unlawful and a direct violation of a High Court injunction.

The Board Chair commended the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, for his ongoing efforts to resolve the matter.

Only days earlier, the Minister had assured investors at the Africa Down Under conference in Australia that Ghana remained a stable and secure destination for mining investment.

Prof. Amponsah warned, however, that such forged documents and misinformation cast doubt on the integrity of Ghana’s business environment.

Despite the provocations, he noted that Azumah remains calm and law-abiding, prepared to follow through with proceedings at ICC.

The ICC ruling is expected in February 2026, and the company has pledged to abide by the outcome, regardless of which party it favors.
