Some aggrieved residents of Duadaso No1 and No2, a suburb of the Jaman North District of the Bono Region have called on the government to as a matter of urgency attend to fix the deplorable roads that link Sampa and Wenchi.

The residents warned that if the roads are not fixed then the government and the electoral commission should not think of stepping foot in the said communities when it is time for the 2024 general elections.

Kwaku Mensah Abrampa Speaking to some residents in an exclusive interview, they stated that the deplorable state of their roads has been neglected by both Political parties (NDC and NPP) for so many years now but the current condition of the road is a death trap to all the road users hence the need for immediate attention by the NPP’s government to ensure the construction of the roads or face their wrath in the subsequent electioneering years.

They stressed that the poor roads network within the Duadso township and the Jaman North district has affected a lot of life activities making it difficult to locomote with ease, especially in the rainy season indicating that, the recent heavy downpour that affected some households at Duadaso No2 had adverse effects on movement because the roads were flooded and prevented a lot of people coming from Wenchi to Sampa and vice-versa.

They have therefore pleaded with the government and other stakeholders to come to their aid in the construction of their roads or forfeit their votes in the next year of election.

The DCE for the Jaman North Constituency, Solomon Owusu reacted that his outfit and the District Assembly since the departure of the contractor have been trying to get him back on site to proceed with the construction indicating that the contractor has not given out a specific day for his return but has promised to come and complete the work.
