Labourers within the Dormaa West District in the Bono Region on Tuesday 21, November 2022 stormed the Cocoa Health and Extension Division (CHED) office over six (6) months of unpaid allowances.
The aggrieved labourers [Weeding Gangs] who are hired to weed on farms by the District Cocoa Health and Extension Division have expressed their dissatisfaction over how they have been treated unfairly.
Reports indicate that the agitated labourers locked up the offices, and seized the officers’ motors and deflated their car tyres.
According to the aggrieved labourers, some have worked for about ten (10) months, others seven and six months respectively without being paid their allowances.
The leader of the aggrieved labourers, Kwabena Yeboah told myrepubliconline.com that all efforts made to retrieve their lock-up funds have proven futile.
