In a concerted effort to improve educational standards in the Berekum East constituency, Hon. Simon Ampaabeng Kyeremeh, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate, organised a generous donation campaign to provide essential resources to local schools.
Over the weekend, Hon. Kyeremeh presented 25 computers, 75 dual desks, and 10 street bulbs to several selected schools, including Kotal M/A Basic School, Berekum Methodist C, and Berekum Senior High School. The timely assistance comes in response to urgent requests from school authorities grappling with resource shortages.
Expressing his dismay at the substandard conditions of many schools within the constituency, Hon. Kyeremeh emphasized the critical role education plays in national development.
“Education is one of the keys to help develop every nation, so I have taken it upon my shoulders to help boost learning and teaching in my constituency because I want to see my children picking up in education,” he affirmed.
The donation elicited jubilation from both headteachers and students, who expressed gratitude through joyous hymns and blessings for the benevolent gesture. However, Hon. Kyeremeh’s commitment did not end with this initial assistance. Acknowledging the pressing need for further infrastructure improvements, he pledged to mobilize additional resources for school renovations and roof repairs.
“After the donation, I have seen some of the schools need renovations and re-roofing, so I am going back to meet my team, and by the grace of God, we will come back and do the needful,” Hon. Kyeremeh declared, underscoring his unwavering dedication to fostering an environment conducive to quality education.
The proactive initiatives undertaken by Hon. Simon Ampaabeng Kyeremeh exemplify a resolute commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure and nurturing the academic potential of future generations in Berekum East.
