The Queen Mother of the Sunyani Traditional Council in the Bono region, Nana Akosua Aso Sika Brayie has indicated that whoever is found littering around will pay for one waste bin as punishment.

She made this assertion after a clean-up exercise organized by the Sunyani Traditional Council in collaboration with the Sunyani Municipal Assembly and Zoomlion Ghana in the Bono regional capital, Sunyani.

Nana Akosua Aso stated that sanitation is paramount and essential to the health of people hence whoever is caught littering around the city of Sunyani will be charged to pay for one waste bin to be placed at vantage points of Sunyani to aid waste collection and effective sanitation to serve as a deterrent to others.

The Queen mother also donated fifty [50] waste bins to authorities to be placed at vantage points in the city of Sunyani to enhance the collection of refuse to facilitate effective sanitation and a hygienic environment indicating that anything rubbish must be deposited in the bins.

She added that whoever litters around without putting the refuse in the rightful place shall be made to face the full rigorous of the laws of “Nananom” to prevent others from repeating the same or similar errors.
