Concerned Youths of Agyemankrom, a suburb in the Dormaa Central Constituency of the Bono Region, have called on local leaders to address persistent network issues hindering business growth and community development.
According to the group, Agyemankrom’s limited connectivity is severely impacting local enterprises and creating security concerns.
At a recent press conference, the group’s leader, Mr. Agyeman Kyere, pointed out that Agyemankrom shares a border with Ivory Coast, making it a security-sensitive area.
“A strong network signal is essential here to enable effective communication when needed,” Kyere emphasized, noting that without it, both workers and business owners are struggling.
Kyere also mentioned that while a small network mast was previously erected by the government, it has been disconnected due to electricity supply issues, leaving the community without reliable service.
He urged the Municipal Chief Executive, the Member of Parliament, and other stakeholders to step in and help resolve the issue.
Nana Afia Adubea, the Abakomahemaa of Agyemankrom, also highlighted the community’s pressing challenges, particularly the lack of network coverage.
“This issue hampers the progress of Agyemankrom and affects residents’ daily lives and businesses,” she stated, stressing the need for political and traditional leaders to work together on a solution.
Several residents expressed frustration over the negative impact on their livelihoods, underscoring the urgent need for network improvements to safeguard businesses and address security risks in Agyemankrom and neighbouring areas.
