The Banda District Chief Executive, Hon. Emmanuel Akone has cut sod for the construction of a water project that will address the demands of the people of Banda Fawoman and Dorbor.

According to the DCE, the project which consists of a Small Community Water System (SCWS) for the people of Band Dorbor and a mechanized borehole at Banda Fawoman will avert a possible water crisis in the two communities.

As the saying goes, “water is life”, the District Chief Executive, Hon. Akone in his opening remark at the sod-cutting expressed his worry over the inadequate portable water at the two communities in the district and stated that it will be a relief to commence the water project to abate the water challenges.

“The complaints I and the assembly are receiving from the commuter every day concerning their water crisis in these communities are unbearable”, he stated.

He continued that, it was not by chance that the sod-cutting ceremony attracted the assembly staff, the traditional leaders, and the general public.

The DCE commended the strong commitment from the assembly staff by organizing funds from the District Development Funds (DDF) and encouraged the citizens to support the project.

He indicated that upon the project’s completion, citizens who would like to extend water connection to their homes, especially at Banda Dorbor should do well to follow the necessary procedure and avoid illegal connections.

The Chiefs also expressed their appreciation for the support the communities had enjoyed so far from the DCE and the Assembly concerning the NPP Constituency Executives, Electoral Area coordinators and the polling Station Executives who were all present at the sod-cutting ceremony.

They further appealed for more support from all stakeholders to enable the project to meet its scheduled completion.
