In a speech delivered prior to the official declaration by the Electoral Commission (EC), he stated that according to his collation, he has secured a first-round victory.

In his address, he said, “Let me thank all of you. We’ve gone through a journey. It’s been a great battle we’ve waged across the country…and we couldn’t have gotten here without the support of the team around me.”

He gave a special mention to Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, the former Majority Leader, Fred Opare Andah, and the entire campaign team.

Dr Bawumia said the MPs who have stood by his side have been phenomenal in this contest, and they delivered on what they promised.

He further expressed gratitude to the national executives of the NPP for organising the presidential primary, the EC, the media, and all others. He described the process as humbling.

“You’re only as good as your team in these matters. And I can say without any fear of contradiction that I have been blessed with an excellent team,” he stated.

“The campaign team, in general, everybody has contributed so much, and I cannot really thank everybody individually at the moment, but I will have time to thank everybody individually,” he said.

“The MPs, I must say, who have stood by my side have been phenomenal in this contest. They’ve really supported, and they’ve delivered what they promised to do. I want to thank all the members of parliament who supported me,” Dr Bawumia added.
