Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia has congratulated the newly elected member of parliament (MP), Ernest Yaw Anim, following his victory in the just-ended Kumawu by-election.
Mr. Anim, who is the candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), polled 15,264 votes to emerge as the winner ahead of the New Democratic Congress’ candidate, Kwesi Amankwah, while two other candidates, Kwaku Duah (1) had 2,478 votes and Kwaku Duah (2) had only 62 votes.
In a Tweet, Dr. Bawumia charged Ernest Yaw Anim to go to parliament and work hard to make his constituents proud.
“Congratulations to Ernest Yaw Anim and Kumawu for this victory. Anim, go and make Kumawu proud and leave an indelible mark in Parliament. Thank You Kumawuman!” he wrote.
