President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed his strong belief that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the most qualified candidate to lead Ghana into the fourth industrial revolution.

During a two-day visit to the Northern, North East, and Savanna regions, President Akufo-Addo urged the people of Mamprugu to support Bawumia as he prepares for his presidential candidacy.

In his appeal for support, President Akufo-Addo emphasized that Dr. Bawumia possesses not only innovative ideas but also well-thought-out programs aimed at advancing the nation. “He is not proposing 24-hour discotheques,” the President stated, highlighting Bawumia’s focus on substantive policies.

The President reiterated his long-standing partnership with Bawumia over the past sixteen years, underscoring his competence, intelligence, and integrity. He confidently stated, “If the people of Ghana agree with me and give him the chance, he will make an excellent President.”

Addressing the Nayiri and the citizens of Mamprugu, President Akufo-Addo sought their backing for their son, Dr. Bawumia, emphasizing his readiness to lead the country effectively. He also compared their respective leadership transitions, noting, “You will never know who will follow you, but in my case, I will know who will succeed me.”

Concluding his remarks, the President urged the people to unite in their support for Bawumia, stating, “I’ve come here to ask for your support to make sure that your son, my Vice President, Mahamudu Bawumia, succeeds me.”
