Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, left Ghana on Monday night, for a working visit to Italy and the Vatican State.
This was announced in a statement signed by the Spokesperson to the Vice President, Gideon Baako Ph.D, dated April 23, 2024.
The visit is intended to strengthen the relationship between Ghana, Italy and the Vatican State.
Dr. Bawumia is scheduled to engage in bilateral talks, including meetings with His Holiness Pope Francis.
The common principles of love, mercy, and inclusivity are anticipated to be the main topics of the Vice President’s talks with Pope Francis, in line with the latter’s initiatives to promote harmony and understanding among all peoples worldwide.
The visit is also part of Dr. Bawumia’s efforts to improve Ghana’s ties with the international world.
He is expected to return to Ghana on Thursday, April 25th.
