A section of Ghanaians in the Ashanti Region says the NPP presidential election outcome wasn’t surprising, stating they knew Dr. Bawumia would win.
They attribute this to alleged misconceptions about delegate support for other candidates, particularly Kennedy Agyapong, saying those following him weren’t actual delegates.
“It was clear he wouldn’t win; not all noise translates to votes,” they noted.
“Bawumia’s landslide victory, winning 232 constituencies, shows his strong support base.Meanwhile, Kennedy Agyapong won 22, Bryan Acheampong 21, and Adutwum 1,” they added.
According to them, it’s a lesson for politicians to focus on grassroots engagement and genuine support.
Ghanaians are calling for unity and a shift in focus towards development, job creation, and improved living standards.
“We’re watching; we want substance over noise,” they emphasized.
The outcome has also sparked calls for Kennedy Agyapong to tone down his speech, with some finding his words unbefitting. Party executives are urged to counsel him.
The residents stress that development is key, and the next government should prioritize the people’s needs.
“Job creation and a comfortable life, that’s what we need,” they said
