The #FixTheCountryNow campaign trending on Twitter is gradually gathering momentum as notable media personalities have joined some Ghanaians on social media to call on the Government to fix the problems of the country.

Ghanaian journalists Captain Smart, Nana Aba Anamoah, Dela Russel Ocloo, Serwaa Amihere amongst others are not giving the Akufo-Addo government breathing space as they have continuously for over seventy-two [72] hours have championed the course of the #FixTheCountryNow campaign using their various platforms.

However, seasoned journalist, Paul Adom Otchere believes the protestors of the new trend #FixTheCountryNow are only blowing hot air.

The host of Good Evening Ghana show who many claimed he is supposedly supporting the ruling New Patriotic Party, tweeted “Until February 2020,ย  Nana Akufo-Addo and Ken Ofori-Atta had grown this economy better than they inherited even with a significant social intervention in education whilst discharging significant legacy debts.”

Reacting to Adom Otchere’s post, colleague media personality, Nana Aba Anamoah also tweeted telling the host of Good Evening Ghana to be bold to tell Akufo-Addo’s Government to Fix the problems of the country.

“For once, be brave and tell this administration led by @NAkufoAddo to #FixTheCountry and stop dragging others in. Is John Mahama our President? CSOs, Media? Did we elect them? Stop this life!!” Nana Aba tweeted

Paul Adom Otchere responded to Nana Aba Anamoah saying “@thenanaaba my dear, how are you, please am often bold, but as I just said on TV this evening, I think we should put this #FixIt discussion in a proper economic context. COVID-19 turned our economy upside down.

“I think we should situate the discussion well. If after all is said and done we still think they should fix it, then by all means letโ€™s tell them so. Good night and letโ€™s meet soon.”

Many Twitter users have expressed their displeasure on Twitter regarding the high cost of living, power crisis, poor quality of life, unemployment and economic hardship.

A group which started the #FixTheCountry trend on social media have threatened to protest on May 9, 2021 over the severe economic hardships in the country.

In a press statement released, the group is calling on government to fix the problems facing the country including poor education, hike in fuel prices health, infrastructure etc.

A notice has been served to the Ghana Police Service to give the conveners of #FixTheCountry the green light to demonstrate against the government.

For once, be brave and tell this administration led by @NAkufoAddo to #FixTheCountry and stop dragging others in.
