Antwi Galey, one of Ghana’s best highlife duo has urged Ghanaian highlife musicians to get conversant with the current Afrobeat music in Ghana.
Speaking in an interview on the mid-morning drive on Republic FM with Nana Effah, Antwi Galey explained that old high-life music is now outmoded because there are lots of modifications in today’s music.
He said highlife musicians should understand this fact and accept the use of the new trend, which is Afrobeat.
“The world is evolving so musicians should accept the reality that, the kind of music done in twenty years ago is outmoded, he said”.
“Let us stop condemning the afrobeat the youth are doing and learn from them because that is the new trend so we can do it, he added”.
Mr. Antwi noted that nothing has changed in the music but it is the pronunciation and beats that is making things new.
Ending his conversation, Galey advised musicians who work as a team or group to depart in case one party marries in order to prevent misunderstanding which can collapse the music career.
