President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has urged all candidates preparing for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to eschew malpractices.
In a goodwill message to the over 500,000 candidates sitting for the exams beginning today Monday July 8, 2024, President Akufo-Addo expressed confidence in the ability of the students to succeed and urged them to approach the examination with honesty and integrity.
He also encouraged the students to approach each paper with a clear mind, answer the questions to the best of their ability, and trust the knowledge and skills they have acquired over the years.
”As you prepare to sit for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), I want to extend my heartfelt best wishes to each and everyone of you. This is a significant milestone in your educational journey and I am confident that you will succeed.”
The president who also highlighted the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy, which provides every student with the opportunity to continue their education and pursue their dreams, further urged the students to stay focused, remain calm, and give their best.
A total of 570,461 candidates both school and private would take the examination at 2,123 centres across the country.
