The death of 25-year-old John Daizy in Offuman, Techiman North District, Bono East Region, has sparked fear among residents.

According to the source, the unfortunate incident occurred on February 4, 2024, during a funeral in Jema, Kintampo South District, Bono East region, when some bodyguards of one Collins Ameyaw fired musketry.

It was revealed that the musketry was used to lead Collins Ameyaw Bawuah (who claims to be the Paramount Chief of the Offuman Traditional Council) to the funeral grounds. During the process, Peter Fordjour, one of Collins Ameyaw’s bodyguards, allegedly shot and killed John Daizy instantly.

It is said that the police moved in quickly to apprehend Kwaku Gyamfi (one of the said bodyguards), whom they claimed to have killed John Daizy and who has since been placed behind bars, a move some residents of Offuman believe was a coverup.

As a result of this incident, some Offuman residents are urging the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the Bono East Reginal Minister, Hon. Kwasi Adu Gyan, the Techiman North District Chief Executive, Hon. Addo Donkor Everson, and the appropriate security agencies in charge of the area to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter and arrest the real culprit.

The residents have alleged that the man currently behind bars for the said crime (Kwaku Gyamfi) is being used as a scapegoat and therefore demand the arrest of Peter Fordjour, whom they believe is the actual culprit of the crime, to face the law at a competent court of law.

The mother of the deceased, Madam Abiba Issaka, a resident of Offuman, has been crying for justice for her departed son, who happens to be her only child.
