A recent brutality of some farmers at Amantin by macho men has been causing tension in and around Amantin in the Bono East region, an area that has consistently seen such acts from these men.
There is growing tension between the Akokoaa community and the locals of Amantin.
Many farmers in the Amantin are suffering brutality from their local counterparts, a situation that demands urgent attention.
“What makes it worrying is the fact that these locals are farmers and what they produce is what they feed on with their families”, a local farmer told reporters.
Speaking in an interview, farmers at Amantin say, they have reported the matter to the police to probe and flush out the mancho men at Akokoaa community and its surroundings but the reports has been in futility.
They are, however calling on the Inspector general of Police IGP and the interior minister to intervene.
Nana Opuku Agyeman who spoke on behalf of the Amantin traditional council, describe the situation as worrying and distasteful, urging the government to offer immediate solution.
