Hon. Joseph Mensah, Member of Parliament for Nkoranza North constituency in the Bono East Region, has undertaken a transformative initiative to reshape the deplorable roads in two communities in his constituency.
The project, aimed at enhancing accessibility for commuters, particularly addressing the longstanding issue of dilapidated roads, targets the communities of Bonte and Bomini, integral parts of the constituency and crucial contributors to the region’s agricultural output.
For years, these farming communities have grappled with impassable roads, resulting in significant losses of farm produce and hindrances to accessing essential services in the district capital, Busunya. The dire situation especially affected vulnerable groups such as pregnant women and the sick, who struggled to traverse the rugged terrain for medical care.
Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Hon. Joseph Mensah took it upon himself to spearhead this non-governmental initiative, allocating personal funds to address the pressing needs of his constituents. His proactive approach stands in stark contrast to the inertia of previous administrations, where calls for road rehabilitation fell on deaf ears.
Inhabitants of Bonte and Bomini expressed astonishment at the swift progress achieved under the MP’s tenure, noting that within a short time frame, their once impassable roads had become navigable.
This tangible improvement not only facilitates transportation but also revitalizes economic activities in these agricultural hubs, ensuring that the region’s food baskets thrive.

Hon. Joseph Mensah’s commitment to improving infrastructure and uplifting communities exemplifies effective leadership and grassroots advocacy, setting a precedent for proactive governance and responsive representation in the region.
