Police in the Bono East Region have arrested multiple suspects in connection with a series of motorbike thefts and robberies across several towns, recovering 18 stolen motorbikes and various robbery tools.
The arrests followed a tip-off on August 11, 2025, at about 2:00 p.m., when officers apprehended suspect Awudu Razak, alias “USA,” in possession of a stolen black striped Apsonic motorbike.
A search of the motorbike’s boot uncovered a locally manufactured pistol, three live cartridges, two spanners, a plier, a pair of gloves, a single pair of scissors, and a black polythene bag with holes used as a face mask.

During interrogation, Razak reportedly admitted to stealing and robbing several motorbikes in Techiman, Sunyani, Bole, Damongo, and other locations.
He also led police to retrieve four stolen motorbikes from his possession.
The suspect named three accomplices — Baba Issah, alias “Container Money”; Abdul Rauf, alias “Gye Nyame”; and Sadick Asamoah, alias “Money” — all residents of Techiman.
Police arrested Abdul Rauf and Sadick Asamoah at their hideouts, but Baba Issah remains at large.
Razak further identified three alleged receivers of the stolen motorbikes — Nana of Abofour, Razak Iddriss, and Bukari Issahaku — all based in Techiman South. Police subsequently arrested the three, recovering 14 stolen motorbikes from Bukari Iddriss’s premises.
All suspects are currently in police custody, and the impounded motorbikes have been secured as exhibits.
Police say efforts are underway to arrest the remaining suspect and identify any additional accomplices.
