A swarm of bees has attacked some residents of Adooso, a suburb of Afram Plains in the Kwahu South District of the Eastern Region, resulting in the hospitalisation of some persons.
Information reaching www.republiconline.com indicates that, the bees attacked residents of Adɔɔso since Thursday, September 30, 2021.
According to report, a pillar that is usually used as a radar to locate the landing parameters of Ferry has maimed Bees on the stretch around the landing station of the Afram Ferry.
The information revealed that, the Bees have been perching in that very area for over ten years and in most cases, when it is time to breed honey, the Bees becomes very aggressive and do not want to have human interference around them.
The source further revealed that, when the Bees begin to breed honey, they are very allergic to perfume flavors and do not want to smell any. It revealed that, they become very violent and wild in the process.
According to the source, the body perfume of the traders and people waiting to board the Ferry ignited the Bees to come out in their numbers and subsequently forced them to smite the people. .
One of the victims identified as the Jacob Dorsu, the station master of the Ferry revealed that, he was equally attacked and has been discharged from the hospital.
He also noted that some school girls were also pummeled by the Bees and are currently receiving treatment at the Kwahu Tafo hospital and Afram Plains respectively.
Meanwhile, he revealed that the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) are currently in the area to fight the Bees.
Speaking to the Director of Operations at NADMO in the Afram Plains South District, Manfred Asiedu, said they have been able to fight off the Bees and that business has returned to it normalcy.
He further revealed that, close to 500 residents and traders were attacked and beaten by the aggressive Bees.
