The Police Service in Berekum East and Berekum West have launched investigations following the discovery of three bodies in separate locations on Monday, February 3, 2025.
The incidents have sent shockwaves through the community, with residents expressing fear over the violent nature of the deaths.
The first deceased individual, identified as Yaw, was found lifeless at the Berekum East main station. Yaw, believed to be in his 30s, was a resident of the Kutre sub-community and worked as a “bolaman,” engaging in informal labour. The cause of his death remains unclear.
In a separate case, a 28-year-old man was found brutally beaten to death in Jamdede. Authorities have yet to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack or identify any suspects.
The third victim, Kofi Amankona, a farmer in his 50s from the Adaague area, was discovered dead in a bush in the Abansere sub-community of Berekum West. The cause of his death is currently unknown.
The tragic discoveries have sparked widespread concern among residents, who fear for their safety. Local authorities have assured the public that investigations are underway to determine the causes of death and any potential links between the cases.
