The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced the resumption o the Betpawa Premier League.

The league was put on hold by the association some weeks ago after the GFA was sent to court by AshantiGold.

The High Court however dismissed the interlocutory injunction filed by Ashantigold Football Club on the Ghana Premier League.

Meanwhile, the High Court has adjourned the contempt case brought against the Ghana Football Association (GFA) by Ashantigold Football Club to Wednesday, October 26, 2022.

The case was adjourned for the second time following a directive by the judge, Justice Nicholas Agbodakpi for GFA Executive Council Member, Dr Randy Abbey to open his defense in a mini trial.

The mini trial is being conducted to determine whether or not Dr Randy Abbey was served with an order for an interlocutory injunction issued by the court on 28th September 2022.

GFA Lawyer, Naa Odofoley Nortey informed the court that Dr Abbey, alongside other Executive Council Members, Frederick Acheampong and Samuel Anim Addo, are out of the country on a national assignment.

The Bailiff, Ellis Armah, who is alleged to have served Mr Abbey with the court order for an interlocutory injunction, concluded his testimony this morning after cross-examination.

The Miners are seeking imprisonment for the GFA Executive Council Members for what they describe as disregard for the dignity, respect, and authority of the court.
