The Black Stars of Ghana have qualified for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, after beating Central African Republic in their final qualifying group game on Thursday afternoon, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
Coach Chris Hughton’s men finished top of Group E with 12 points, after winning 3 and drawing 3.
Louis Mafouta gave Central African Republic an early lead on the 25th minute after they had a bright start.
However, Mohammed Kudus brought Ghana on level 2 minutes to the end of the first half, with a wonderful free-kick.
In the second half, Ghana played considerably better, as they controlled the tempo of the game.
With just two minutes to the end of the game, Ernest Nuamah doubled the lead to pick all three points for the Black Stars after Semenyo found him at the far post.
The game ended 2:1 in favor of Ghana.
