The Black Stars of Ghana were held to a 2-2 draw against Uganda in their second international friendly game at Grande de Stade Marrakech in Morocco on Tuesday, March 27, 2024.
Following Ghana’s loss to their West African rivals, Nigeria’s last four days, coach Otto Addo’s team was looking to get back to winning ways in his second game in charge of the team after his return.
Ghana had a bright of the game, as they took an early lead in the 6th minute through Jerome Opoku, who connected Jordan Ayew’s fine-taken corner.
However, Uganda came back into the game close to the half-hour mark, as Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s forward, Stephen Mukwala scored from the spot.
Ghana, with a dominant display in the first half, restored their lead six minutes after with Jordan Ayew scoring from a penalty spot after defender Dennis Odoi was brought down in the 18-yard box, ending the first half with the advantage.
The second half started with Uganda looking for the equalizer but the Black Stars kept control of the game.
But with a lack of concentration and poor defending, Mukwala again scored his second of the game to bring his side on level in the 82nd minute.
The game then traveled to the end with both teams sharing the points.
