The Bole Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Alex Adjeivie, was alerted to the violence and immediately deployed a 22-member team made up of two senior officers and personnel from the National Formed Police Unit to the scene.

When the team arrived, residents who had initially fled into the bush gradually returned and led officers through the community, where six bodies were discovered in separate locations.

Two survivors of the attack—80-year-old Sansah Sinkpe and 43-year-old Sansah Boonie—were quickly taken to the Bole District Hospital for treatment.

Police say investigations are ongoing to track down the perpetrators and restore calm in the area.
