The Wamfie District Police have arrested a woman for allegedly hitting her husband with a pestle and killing her instantly.
The grievous incident happened at Kyenkyenase a farming community in the Dormaa East District of the Bono Region.
Speaking to an eyewitness, he explained that, he was in the farm on July 14, 2021 around 8:15 am when he heard people shouting, so he quickly rushed home to see what has happened and on his arrival he saw Agya Grusi’s lifeless body in pool of blood.
According to him, the deceased who is over 130 years, had a little misunderstanding with his wife. The suspect, Maame Grusi who was unable to hold her temper hit her husband with pestle several times till he fell unconscious and died.
Afia Grusi, daughter of the deceased revealed that, there is always a quarrel between the couple but was uncertain what really transpired on that fateful day that her mother hit the father with pestle.
The suspect, Maame Grusi who is also believed to be in her 70s accused her deceased husband of been a wizard which led to the quarrel between them and eventually hit him several times in the head till he died.
The suspect was arrested after after a complaint was lodged at Wamfie District Police station and she is currently assisting the Police to undertake their investigations into the matter.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at Dormaa Central Presbyterian Hospital Morgue for autopsy.
