The Ghana National Association of Authors and Publishers has urged parents and guidance to accept the high prices of books for Pre-School and basic school textbooks to go cash and Carry and high cost.

Mr John Akwasi Amponsah, President of the Association at a press conference explained that the current economic circumstance in Ghana and its devastating effects on businesses and livelihoods has generated much concern for most industries, which he said has called for members of the Ghana National Association of Authors and Publishers to alert the general public on the increases of prices of books and standardized discount policy.

He stated that the economic circumstances of the country underpinned by the exchange rate, inflation, fuel prices and trade terms are having a toll on book development, marketing and promotion in Ghana.

He noted that, as a result, they the members of the Ghana National Association of Authors and Publishers resolve that, the prices of books shall be higher than usual for learners in pre-tertiary schools.
