The Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation has engaged with the Parliamentary Select Committee on Energy to brief them on their mandate, work plans for the year 2025 and operational challenges.
The Chairman of the Committee and MP for Ho West, Hon Emmanuel Kwasi Bedrah in his opening remarks stated that, the meeting forms part of the Committee’s oversight responsibility of the agencies under the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition.
The MD of BOST, Mr. Afetsi Awoonor in his presentation stated that, as a new management they have decided to continue with all existing projects commenced by the previous administration.
They intend to revamp the Akosombo depot and develop the Takoradi depot as key and strategic infrastructure for the country.
As part of their strategy for the year, they will enhance export market,create BOST-TOR partnership and in line with Government flagship policy operate 24 hours across its major depots.
He also outlined some key challenges that affects their operations which need to be addressed.They include the suspension of the Gold for the oil policy, low strategic stock,inadequate laycans, BOST margins, Forex losses.
