The Boundary Commission of Ghana, led by Commissioner General Major General Emmanuel Kotia (Ph.D), has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding Ghana’s territorial integrity during a courtesy call on the Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, at his office in Accra.
Hon. Muntaka commended the Commission for its dedication to delineating borders and resolving boundary-related issues, assuring them of the Ministry’s continued support and collaboration.
“Our meeting underscored the critical role that the Boundary Commission plays in safeguarding Ghana’s territorial integrity. In an era of increasing geopolitical tensions and boundary disputes, the work of this commission is not only relevant but critical for national peace and stability,” the Minister stated.
Major General Kotia highlighted the Commission’s crucial role in identifying border crossings, which aids security agencies in maintaining national security and stability.
He also expressed gratitude for the Ministry’s cooperation in addressing boundary-related matters, particularly with the Ghana Immigration Service.
The Minister emphasized the importance of enhancing public awareness about boundary issues and engaging communities in fostering understanding and cooperation.
