Boy, 20, stabbed to death over motorbike at Samreboi

A 20-year-old okada rider, Kwofie, met his untimely demise in the hands of Jacob, known as Jaybad, who allegedly stabbed him to death with scissors in a bid to steal his brand-new motorcycle at Samreboi.

The incident occurred on Monday, May 5, at about 8:00pm. JAYBAD (Jacob) is said to have asked Kwofie to send him to Ohiampenika a town near Samreboi with his new motorcycle.

After passing Amoaku, about 15 kilometers away from Samreboi, Jaybad, who was sitting at the rear stabbed Kwofie from the behind, demanding that he gets down from his bike. The struggle continued, unfortunately, Kwofie died shortly after losing  excessive blood.

Jacob (JAYBAD) upon realizing Kwofie’s vulnerability bolted with the motorbike to Ohiampenika. He was later chased by the community folks where he took refuge at the chief’s palace.
The Police were called for his arrest, however, the youth of Asuoshyime (where the boy lives) had a lot of confrontations with the police. The mob had challenged the police to hand over the suspect to be lynched.

This was followed to the Samreboi Police Station, where the youth in agitation had a lot a major confrontation with the police in an attempt to burn the police station if the suspect was not released to face punishment.
A reinforcement team was called who fired several warning shots to disperse the crowd.

The suspect, Jaybhad has been sent to the Asankrangwa District Command, where he will be arranged before court on Wednesday, May 7.
