Brave driver knocks down 2 armed robbers on motorbike at Santa Maria

According to reports, the driver of the commercial vehicle chased the two armed robbers from Santa Maria Station to Antieku junction were he succeeded in knocking them down.

An eyewitness at the scene told this news portal that the two robbery suspects at about 5 am robbed a fruit seller who was heading to the market to purchase fruits. The robbers inflicted multiple knife wounds on the victim for refusing to hand over her money to them.

The armed robbers were unlucky as the driver of the Urvan bus loaded with passengers on seeing the rider and pillion rider, used his bus to hit them. The suspects who fell into a nearby gutter and sustained injuries were arrested.

The Urvan somersaulted in the process with several passengers on board sustaining various degrees of injuries.

Four passengers were rushed to the Akawe Government Hospital while seven others and the robbery victim are being treated at the hospital. Other passengers were also rushed to the Deseret Hospital at Santa Maria where they were treated and discharged.
