The Member of Parliament (MP) for Abetifi, Bryan Acheampong, has presented twenty-two [22] sewing machines and forty-six [46] hair dryers to the Dressmakers and Hairdressers Associations in the Kwahu East District.
The support is to ensure that members who have acquired training in dressmaking and hairdressing in the district start their trade without inhibitions.
In addition to the items presented, the Member of Parliament also supported the sixty-eight [68] graduands with GH¢2,000.00 each to start their own business.
According to the Founder of Bryan Acheampong Foundation [BAF], the support goes to strengthen the collaboration that exists as partners for BAF Youth in Apprenticeship Programme and to empower constituents who are hairdressers, seamstresses, and tailors.
On their part, the beneficiaries commended Hon, Bryan Acheampong for the donation.
Held on Sunday, 21st August 2022, the event was the first of its kind where the various associations thus the National and Cooperative Associations collaborated to host the event.
In attendance were the Chiefs and Elders of Abetifi, Bokuruwa, Kwahu Tafo, Pepease, Nkwatia Aduamoa townships, the Member of Parliament of Abetifi Constituency, Hon. Bryan Acheampong, the District Chief Executive, Hon. Isaac Agyapong, the Director of Development for BAF, Mr Frank Armoo and many other dignitaries.
